Breakout Session #3: Armenian Studies, Higher Education, and Resource Mobilization

Our third breakout session was led by moderator Asbed Kotchikian, who is a professor of Global Studies at AUA. The topic of the discussion was “Armenian Studies, Higher Education, and Resource Mobilization,” discussed by speakers Stephan Astourian, Historian and former William Saroyan Director of the Armenian Studies Program at U.C. Berkeley, Mary Papazian, former President and Executive in Residence at San Jose State University, Razmik Panossian, director at Armenian Communities Department in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and Ann Karagozian, Distinguished Professor and Director at UCLA Promise Armenian Institute. Our expert speakers had a fruitful conversation about Armenian studies in universities and the usage of Armenian resources in this field.
