High Commissioner Visits Rhode Island

High Commissioner Sinanyan visited Rhode Island during his working visit to the United States, where he met with Rhode Island State Representative and House Majority Whip Katherine Kazarian. The two discussed the need for cooperation among Armenian American elected officials in order to effectively advocate for the Armenian cause.
Later Mr. Sinanyan visited the St. Sahag and Mesrob Armenian Church in Providence and met with Fr. Shnork Souin and Parish Council Chairman John Megrdichian. The High Commissioner got the opportunity to meet the Armenian community in Providence at a gathering held at St. Sahag and Mesorb. The community discussed the need for unity and cooperation within the Diaspora in order to effectively mobilize the Diaspora’s resources in support of Armenia and Artsakh.
Mr. Sinanyan returned to Massachusettes, where he met with Rev. Fr. Arakel Aljalian and representatives from local ACYOA chapters and students from Boston University and Harvard at the St. James Armenian Church. The youth shared their experiences and brainstormed avenues for developing closer ties with Armenia and engaging in Armenia’s development.
