The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, is on a working visit to the Syrian Arab Republic. 

At the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia, the High Commissioner met with the spiritual and allied leaders of the Armenian community of Damascus. 

The RA Ambassador to Syria, Tigran Gevorgyan, leaders of the Armenian Apostolic and Catholic Church dioceses of Damascus, heads of local ARF bodies, Ramkavar and Gnchakian parties, and representatives of the General Armenian Charitable Union (UABC), the Jinishian Memorial Fund and the Syrian Relief Cross attended the meeting. 

During the meeting, they examined in detail the problems facing the Armenian community in Syria and how to overcome them, especially after the devastating earthquake of February 6. Representatives of the community presented to Zareh Sinanyan the current situation and the works undertaken to resolve the issues. They also discussed  Armenia-Diaspora cooperation and prospects for its further expansion and development. 

The High Commissioner also presented the office programs, and the work carried out in the direction of repatriation.
