Ailin Berdud Merino Melkomians
I was born and raised in Germany with Armenian roots from Iran. After graduating high school, I studied Business Administration with focus on Corporate Law and to work within my father’s logistic company in Cologne, Germany as co-managing director. In the meantime, I also took over the board work of a German-Armenian women's association in Cologne, initially as an accountant, later as Chairwoman from 2017 until the end of 2020.
My long-term work within a Diaspora Armenian association in Germany has brought me many contacts across Europe and around the world. Since October 2020, I have visited Armenia numerous times each month to support and mitigate the circumstances of the war in 2020. In February 2021, I finally decided to move to Yerevan with my four children to educate them about our country and offer my work experience as a proud, but concerned Armenian woman.
Being familiar with the advantages and disadvantages of Diaspora life and using my 20 years of international work experience in the economic business field, I wanted to connect my career with my passion to support a strong network of Armenian communities and professionals all over the world on behalf of the Republic of Armenia.
I am currently the Diaspora Philanthropy Coordinator at the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and am very happy to be part of the iGorts program.
