Hrant Jaghinyan
My name is Hrant Jaghinyan. Born in Yerevan, Armenia, and raised in Europe, I received a well-rounded education in Romania, culminating in my graduation with a bilingual International Baccalaureate diploma. I then pursued my passion for design at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, specialising in this field.
My deep-rooted love for design, art, architecture, and the rich cultural heritage of my Armenian ancestry has profoundly shaped my unique perspective. This blend of influences - combining the intricate, ornamental style of Armenian design and architecture with the minimalist European aesthetic - drives my distinct creative vision.
My commitment to civil society began early, as I gained valuable experience volunteering in the Image and Marketing department of the UN Youth Association of Romania. In 2011, I co-founded the Armenian Youth Organization of Romania and the Armenian Church Youth Organization of Romania, where we organized youth camps, creative and cultural workshops, and events for Armenian youth across the country. These efforts culminated in the creation of the Armenian Street Festival (Festivalul Strada Armenească), which welcomed 24,000 visitors during its 8th edition in 2024.
My volunteer work opened doors to global impact when I began collaborating with the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). Here, I played an integral role in creating visual campaigns and lobbying efforts, contributing to the success that led to the adoption of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons by the United Nations and ICAN’s Nobel Peace Prize win in 2017.
Currently, I serve as the Creative Director of Codemlet, a tech and Web3-focused creative agency, where I help transform ideas into polished digital products.
In addition to my professional endeavours, I remain deeply involved in the Armenian community in Bucharest, applying my creativity and organizational skills to projects initiated by the Union of Armenians of Romania, the Armenian Diocese of Romania, and the Armenian Cultural Center.
By participating in the Diaspora Youth Ambassador program, I am eager to forge meaningful connections with professionals from around the world and actively contribute to the global Armenian community. I look forward to strengthening our ties with our homeland and bringing fresh perspectives and collaborative energy to our shared cultural and social initiatives.
