André Vartan-Boghossian
I am André Vartan-Boghossian, a registered architect and Australia-Armenian born and raised in Sydney, Australia. My record proves a continued dedication to fostering connections and building a brighter future for the Armenian diaspora. With a Master of Architecture from the University of Technology Sydney and currently completing a Master of Public Policy and Management at the University of Melbourne, Australia’s globally top-ranked university, I am driven to serve my community both as an architect and personally, through my professional skills, knowledge of our communities and by means of impactful public policy.
After 10 years of professional experience, for the past four years I have operated my own architecture firm, SDCW, across multiple states in Australia, specialising in childcare projects for children 5 years and younger.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I have been actively involved in the Armenian community of Australia since 2006, holding multiple leadership positions across a number of diaspora organisations in both Sydney and Melbourne. I believe in the power of unity and collaboration and am dedicated to working with any community organisations associated with and creating a positive impact on the Armenian diaspora. This includes being involved with several initiatives directly from the Office of the High Commissioner of the Diaspora, such as being a member of the advisory committee and a speaker at the inaugural Armenian National Youth Forum in 2023.
Following the 2020 war and continued attacks in 2022, I uprooted and moved to Armenia and founded Kaitzak, a not-for-profit focused on exploring, highlighting, and amplifying the strengths of the global diaspora. During this time, I also contributed my project management skills to TUMO, a not-for-profit designed to empower youth through technology and creativity in Armenia.
As a participant in the Diaspora Youth Ambassador Program, my mission is to forge stronger ties between Armenia and Australia. Part of this mission is committing to understand and help define a unified vision for the diaspora and Armenia alike, ensuring that our shared history and future aspirations are aligned and mutually supportive.
