Meri Mikaelyan was born and raised in Russia. She is a lawyer specializing in civil, family, and international private law, with experience in commercial and non-commercial organizations as well as the public sector.

Meri earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Law with honors from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. She has written a wide range of scientific articles on legal matters.

Her legal career began during her third year of university, working as an assistant lawyer at a law firm. She later gained valuable experience in the public sector. Prior to moving to Armenia, Meri worked as a lawyer at one of Russia's largest private law firms, focusing on personal bankruptcy cases.
