Siranush Hovakimyan

My name is Siranush Hovakimyan, I’m 24 years old and I live in Bucharest.
I was born and raised in Romania, but I grew up in a strong Armenian environment. My family always made sure I stayed connected to our culture, so while studying in Romanian schools, I also learned Armenian. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting and Management Information Systems from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies.
For the past eight years, I’ve been actively involved with the Union of Armenians in Romania, helping promote Armenian culture and traditions. One of our biggest achievements has been creating the Armenian Street Festival (“Festivalul Strada Armenească”), which welcomed 27,000 visitors at its ninth edition in 2025. I’m also part of the “Vardavar” Armenian community dance ensemble in Bucharest, performing at international festivals to share Armenian traditions with audiences worldwide. In addition, I’m involved with both the Armenian Youth Organization of Romania and the Armenian Church Youth Organization of Romania, where we organize youth camps, creative workshops, and cultural events for young Armenians across the country.
Through the Diaspora Youth Ambassador program, I’m excited to connect with professionals around the world, contribute to the global Armenian community, and strengthen our ties with Armenia by bringing new perspectives and collaborative energy to our cultural and social projects.
