Victoria Stepanyan
My name is Victoria Stepanyan. I was born in Armenia, but I've lived in Latvia most of my life.
I studied product design and fashion. My current professional career focuses on interior design. Alongside my professional work, I've been actively involved in international and local youth organizations for several years. In Latvia, I'm involved in the Armenian church community and the youth organization ArmUnity.
Since 2024, I've been a board member of the World Armenian Youth
Network (WostAYN), and since 2025, I've been a board member of the AREV Charitable Foundation. Together with the foundation's team, we implement projects aimed at helping children and supporting social institutions in various regions of Latvia.
Participation in international educational programs organized by the Council of Europe and WostAYN in Hungary, France, and Armenia has helped me gain a deeper understanding of the importance of youth leadership, international cooperation, and what we need to make strong Armenian communities.
My professional career is also closely connected to Armenian culture. In 2023, while working on my university fashion collection, I explored the possibilities of reinterpreting historical Armenian ornaments in contemporary design, taking into account sustainable development principles. The Araksa collection was named one of the best collections by young Latvian designers in 2023. This experience showed me that culture and national heritage can be preserved and promoted through contemporary creative forms.
As a Diaspora Youth Ambassador, I want to strengthen the connection between Armenia and the Diaspora by creating projects that bring people together and help preserve Armenian identity. I believe that love for one's roots can be expressed through creativity, culture, social activism, and concrete initiatives.
