About the Program
The Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia continues to implement the annual Diaspora Youth Ambassador program (Training for Diaspora Armenian Youth Leaders), which is open to youth both active in the community and those just starting out with their activities.
The program aims to enable Diaspora Armenian youth to expand their views on Armenia’s political, social, economic and other issues, support their greater involvement in community life, and increase the efficiency of their activities, through the transfer of new knowledge and skills, fostering connections, exchanging experiences, as well as, contributing to the formation and development of collaboration between youth from various Diaspora communities and Armenia.
The program is for 1 year, has 2 stages, and covers the period from August 2026 to July 2027, of which 2 weeks will be spent in Armenia, from August 24 to September 6, 2026. Throughout the rest of the year, participants will carry out activities planned during the program in their communities.
The program will be conducted in Armenian. It will be a blend of theoretical and practical work and include a number of lectures, workshops, and meetings, along with an experience exchange. Participants will visit state, scientific-educational, cultural, and religious institutions, memorable places, and regions within the Republic of Armenia.
TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
Participants are responsible for covering their travel expenses to and from Armenia for the 13-day in-country portion of the program, as well as for purchasing travel insurance. Once in Armenia, the program will be funded by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The organizers will provide accommodation and meals in Armenia, transportation within Armenia during the 13-day in-country portion of the program, and organized visits to institutions and sites as part of the program excursions.
The program is funded by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
Participation Criteria
Applicants from the following categories will be considered:
- Category I: Armenians from the Diaspora aged 22–35 who have been actively engaged in their communities for more than two years as leaders or members of youth, community, or religious organizations. This includes individuals who have participated in or organized community events.
Participants in this category will have the opportunity to become partners of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs within their communities. Through their engagement, they will contribute to expanding the Diaspora Youth Ambassadors network and serve as mentors for participants in Category II, who have recently begun engaging in community activities, throughout the one-year duration of the program.
- Category II: Armenians from the Diaspora aged 20–25 who have recently begun engaging in community activities, such as youth, cultural, or religious initiatives, within the past year and who wish to develop and implement their own projects in their communities.
Participants in this category will have the opportunity to work with mentors, learn from the experiences and initiatives of other communities, and acquire practical skills and knowledge that will enable them to become actively involved in various areas of community engagement.
Upon successful completion of the Program, participants will receive a certificate confirming their participation.
