A Pan-Armenian Online Chess Tournament Will Be Held to Celebrate International Chess Day

The Yerevan Chess Federation and the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia in partnership with the Melkonian Global Overture, are organizing a pan-Armenian online chess tournament dedicated to International Chess Day. The AGBU Armenian Virtual College is e-learning partner of the tournament.
The tournament will start on July 20th at 8:20 PM Yerevan time, and will last 2 hours. It will include participants from Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora. Many international grandmasters are expected to take part in the tournament.
"First of all, this initiative aims to unite Armenia and the Diaspora on a single platform, to create new ties, and to implement the idea of a pan-Armenian chess world. I think this tournament will be well-received in Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora attracting a wide range of people,” said Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, President of the Yerevan Chess Federation and MP.
In addition to the main prizes, there are prizes for women, for those in the 10, 12 and 14 age groups, veterans, and those with FIDE rating below 2,000.
The deadline for registration in the tournament is July 15th. The tournament is free and open to everyone, however those who wish to participate must submit their information to the coordinator on the tournament’s platform (www.lichess.org) https://lichess.org/@/muran29, send FIDE's account number, and in the absence of the latter, provide information such as the participant’s first and last name, date of birth and country of residence.
