Startups are Creating New Solutions Specifically for Repatriates

The 4 winners of the GovTech bootcamp have been chosen. In order to strengthen Armenia-Diaspora ties and support repatriates the “Intothetech” startup offers to reflect Armenia's technological ecosystem on one platform and facilitate employment in that field. The other winners: “Teachsurfing” and “HyeR” offers employers an easier way to connect with job seekers and “Roomy” offers an online platform for finding, renting and paying for apartments.

The winners from 10 startups were selected based on their final performances during the last day of the bootcamp. The members of the jury were Zareh Sinanyan, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Raffi Kassarjian, Director of the Board of Trustees of Impact Hub Yerevan and Director of the Union of Advanced Enterprise Technologies, Acacia Poladian, Expert of the Office of the Commissioner, Arman Arakelyan, Program Manager of AUA - Akian College of Science & Engineering, Hambardzum Kaghketsyan, Founder at SmartGateVC.

 

The winning participants will undergo a two-month acceleration program, during which they will have training and individual mentoring courses to improve and develop their technological solutions. The winners of this round were awarded a grant equivalent to 1000 Euros.

The GovTech project is a joint venture with the efforts of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Impact Hub Yerevan and GIZ.
