Azerbaijan Launches Attacks on Artsakh

At 7:10 this morning Armenia time, the Azerbaijani armed forces launched air and artillery strikes along the entire Artsakh-Azerbaijani contact line. Azerbaijani forces have been pushed back along several directions, suffering human and technical losses, in particular three tanks, two helicopters, and several combat drones. Fighting continues along the entire line of contact.
Our defense army is responding to the enemy’s attacks with decisive actions.
The military-political leadership of Azerbaijan, specifically Ilham Aliyev bears sole responsibility for the military escalation and the entire situation.
Peaceful settlements, including the capital Stepanakert, are also being shelled. The population has been called on to take refuge and remain in shelters. Civilian casualties have been reported from the Armenian side.
In a message addressed to all Armenians, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated, “We must stand strong with our nation and with our army, in defense of our sacred motherland. And we will win.”
RA Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan had a telephone conversation with the Personal Representative for the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Andrzej Kasprzyk. The Minister informed him that Azerbaijan has launched another unprovoked provocation and the situation on the border.
Martial law and widespread mobilization of all aged 18 and higher has been declared in Artsakh.
Martial law and general mobilization will be declared in the Republic of Armenia. The decision will take effect when officially announced.
