Entrepreneurship and Business Development Program for Repatriates

Within the framework of the Increased Resilience of Syrian Armenians and Host Population (IRIS) program financed by the EU, Austrian Development Cooperation, and Austrian Red Cross, an informational meeting was held with interested and partnering organizations in connection with the launch of the next phase of the entrepreneurship development program.
The Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs is a project partner and stakeholder, and the head of our Office’s repatriation activities Hovhannes Aleksanyan was one of the participants in the informational meeting. Syrian-Armenians, Lebanese-Armenians, as well as repatriates from other countries, are among the program’s beneficiaries. Applications must be submitted to the IRIS Business Incubator, which will advise applicants as needed.
The program is intended for the self-employed, start-ups, and operating businesses. Grants (1.8 million AMD) and loans (up to 7 million AMD) are provided for projects in various sectors of agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, and business. The program aims to fund up to 50 business plans.
