Evelina Barseghyan
Evelina Barseghyan was born in Sevan. As a child, she moved with her family to the Russian Federation. Evelina graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Omsk State University named after FM Dostoevsky. Then, she worked as a journalist in St. Petersburg. In 2015, Evelina became a laureate of the All-Russian competition "Truth and Justice" for a number of works dedicated to the fight against corruption.
Later in her life, she became involved with cinema, becoming a screenwriter and director. Her debut in this field is the film "Someone loves you", shot in Evelina's hometown-the village of Ddmashen Sevan. The film received wide international recognition, in particular, it was shown at the Cannes Film Festival, as part of the Short Film Corner program, acquired by leading European and American TV channels. Evelina's third film "Bravist" (Bravoman) passed the final stage of the Manhattan Short Film Festival - 2016 and entered the long list of the Academy Awards.
Evelina is a laureate of a number of festivals. In 2020, she won the competition announced by the National Film Center of Armenia and directed the short comedy "The Heiress."
She is also the winner of the competition held by the British television network SHORTS HD as part of the 68-69th Cannes International Film Festival (in the competition, her films "the Heiress" and "Bravist" were selected for the top five).
In 2023, Evelina completed two retraining programs at the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts: "Fundamentals of management in the modern National Theater" and "Fundamentals of modern drama in the National Theater" (in collaboration with the National Drama Theater of Russia).
Her current workplace is in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
Evelina is engaged in the analysis of the cinematographic, theatrical and creative environment in Armenia and abroad, as well as expert support of legislative activities in these areas.
